Water

Water

Water is a recurring subject in my work.
I grew up by the sea, in a place where blue and turquoise are present all year round: sea, sky, pools, ponds….
Since I’ve been living in Berlin I feel a great longing for the sea. My studio is filled with blue and waves and it seems to me the most natural thing in the world. Here I immerse myself in my own ocean, made of fabric, paper, wire….

I have developed different techniques to represent water in movement and I continue to experiment with materials.
Three-dimensionality is a constant in these works.

The series Marine Current is an installation of large painted canvases hanging from the ceiling and deals with the human impact on the oceans: You enter a metaphorical bottom of the sea, walk through these painted canvases and when you turn around to come out, you find all the garbage produced by humans, mostly plastic, which is often not visible from the surface.
